Whisper of the Stars

Well, contrary to expectations, it didn’t rain in London today.  Wimbledon was able to continue uninterrupted and I was able to sit out in the sun at the Horniman museum and enjoy the views over London.

But the real purpose of the visit was to see Whisper of the Stars, Bryan Alexander’s exhibition of magnificent photos taken in Arctic Siberia.  There was plenty of glistening snow, sometimes tinged orange by a setting sun, as well as herds of reindeer and people dressed in fur coats topped by traditional Russian shawls.  My favourite photograph was of a young woman rocking her baby, who was swathed in fur and lying in a cradle suspended from the ceiling.

And guess what?

This is yet another free attraction in London.

To round off the visit, I walked round the small zoo and was rather taken by this rabbit soaking up the sun.
